Babylonian With Marduk

Babylon is a state of Lower Mesopotamia (Iraq), with Babylon as its capital. Babylonia emerged when Hammurabi (fl. ca. 1696-1654 BC short chronology creates) a rule of the territories of the ancient kingdoms of Sumer and Acadia. Amorites, a Semitic person, Babylonia adopted the written language of Akkadian official use anti-Semitic, and retained the Sumerian language for religious purposes, at that time was the most spoken language. Akkadian and Sumerian cultures played an important role in later Babylonian culture and the region continues to be an important cultural center, even under foreign domination.

The first mention of Babylon is one tablet in the reign of Sargon of Akkad, 23, a century before Christ.

After the collapse of the Sumerian civilization, the last dynasty of Ur III, in the hands of the Elamites (2002 BC-1940 BC traditional short) was the control over most of the Amorites of Mesopotamia, where it forms a series of small kingdoms. Were in the early centuries of "Amorite", the most powerful city-states of Isin and Larsa, although Shamsi-Adad I did not join the northern regions around Assur and Mari. One of these Amorite dynasties was established in Babylon City State, which eventually would take over the other and form the empire of Babylon, before, during the so-called old Babylon.
